A lively, warm, analog sound.
Arrangements and production with a vintage soul.

about

Hi, I’m Sergei — a music producer and multi-instrumentalist
with a signature sound that blends modern groove with warm retro nostalgia.

I’ve been in music for over 20 years and have worked as a producer for more than a decade. My specialties include:

Soul, R&B, Funk, Indie Pop, Indie Rock, Blues, Synth Pop, Disco, and French House.

I grew up on The Beatles — their approach to harmony and melody has shaped my musical taste forever.

My sound is also influenced by Jamiroquai, Parcels, Jungle, Bruno Mars, Daft Punk, Brand New Heavies,
and the classics of the ’70s and ’80s.
I’m drawn to music that feels both nostalgic and fresh:
warm analog tone, live instruments, catchy melodic lines, and a tight groove.

I’ve trained with top industry professionals, collaborated with leading musicians and studios in St. Petersburg,
and continue to refine my sound by combining detailed production with expressive live performance.

Let’s create something soulful and unforgettable.

Analog synthesizers, a 1975 Rhodes, live drums, tube preamps, and a warm atmosphere for a truly authentic sound.

signature sound

vintage analogue gear

I create arrangements and productions with the feel of real, live groove — like on vintage records, but with a modern commercial sound.

My approach is built on real instruments and human performance.
I use minimal samples and MIDI, choosing instead a real Rhodes, live bass guitar, analog synths, percussion, all recorded through high-quality preamps.

The ’70s and ’80s had a huge influence on me — their boldness, groove, and psychedelia. But at the same time, I grew up on Soviet pop and those cinematic soundtracks — that’s part of my DNA too. Later I discovered Tame Impala, Parcels, Chromeo, Jamiroquai, Michael Kiwanuka… And at some point I realized that anything honest and musical resonates with me, no matter the era. I’m not trying to recreate the past — I’m just borrowing its mood and aesthetics and carrying them into today’s sound.

studio

where the sound lives

My studio is located in a wooden countryside house, and that space plays a huge role in how acoustic instruments — drums, acoustic guitar, percussion — sound. Wood gives a soft, warm response, and the room’s irregular shape helps avoid unwanted reflections and standing waves.

The space is acoustically treated for recording vocals and instruments directly in the studio, while the house’s hallway can be used as a natural “echo chamber” for a more spacious, atmospheric sound. This creates a wide palette of possibilities — from tight, controlled drums to lively, expansive tones filled with the character of a wooden room.

instruments

a warm analog palette

My setup is built around a collection of vintage keyboards, analog synthesizers, guitars, basses, and drums — instruments that offer a rich, natural palette of sounds. These are the colors that immediately fall into place in an arrangement and create the feel of real, living music.

There’s a special kind of magic in the way a true Rhodes vibrates under your fingers, or how a single knob turn can completely change the character of an analog synth. These instruments add depth, dynamics, and that unmistakable “human” quality that digital tools simply can’t replicate. This setup makes it possible to craft tracks with their own signature — recognizable, warm, and genuinely inspiring.

mics

timeless classics

The studio’s microphone collection is curated to capture the true character of every instrument and vocal performance — from the soft low end of a kick drum to the airy highs of acoustic guitar and the subtle nuances of the human voice. The setup includes both modern high-end microphones and vintage models that add depth, richness, and that unmistakable tonal warmth to the recording.

outboard

a rich palette

The studio uses a flexible, well-designed preamp system: tube channels add warm musical saturation and soft harmonics, while high-quality Neve 1073-style clones deliver that signature density, unmistakable “British” character, and expressive midrange that makes instruments sound confident and professional.

Complementing the setup are eight ultra-clean UAD preamp channels — perfect for situations where maximum transparency, detail, and zero coloration are required. All of these options can be freely combined — tube, solid-state, Neve-style, and ultra-clean — to shape the exact character needed for a particular voice or instrument. And together with a collection of premium UAD plug-ins, this system forms a complete recording and processing chain suitable for top-level production.

I came into production pretty naturally: first music school, then a school band, then my early experiments with sequencers… And starting around 2015, Saint Petersburg completely pulled me into its professional music scene. I studied under great engineers, slowly built my first studio piece by piece, and worked with musicians from Europe and the US. At some point I realized I wanted my own space — a place where you can record an entire album from start to finish. So I built a countryside studio fully equipped for live tracking, and now it’s where any idea can turn into a real, fully-formed record.

Minimal samples, loops, MIDI, and quantization — maximum live texture and music that breathes.

services

from idea to a finished release

I work with artists on singles, EPs, and full releases — from production and arrangement to recording live instruments, mixing, and mastering. I can create a demo, a full arrangement, or a radio-ready track for you. I work across different genres and always tailor the sound to your style, references, and goals.

I also offer focused services: recording individual instruments, writing melodies for your lyrics, developing your demo, as well as mixing and mastering. The priority is to give your music a high-quality, modern, and emotional presentation that fully brings the track’s idea to life.

My approach is built on real instruments and human performance. I use minimal samples and MIDI, choosing instead a real Rhodes, live bass guitar, analog synths, and percussion — all recorded through high-quality preamps.

process

процесс

Процесс работы

The work on a track begins with creating an 8-bar demo of the chorus — a short fragment that defines the harmony, rhythm, mood, and the potential final sound of the song. Once this fragment and the overall structure of the composition (intro, verses, choruses, bridge) are approved, I move on to the full arrangement: building out the sections, shaping the rhythmic foundation, adding harmonic instruments, bass, synths, guitars, and additional layers.

At this stage, we also discuss whether we need session musicians — drummers, guitarists, horn players, or vocalists — and whether certain parts should be recorded in other studios if that’s necessary to achieve the desired quality or a specific tone.

After the final arrangement is approved, I track all the instruments, refine the parts, and prepare the entire session for mixing and mastering.
